Peer Review Process

The NutriSmart: Journal of Nutrition and Food Technology adopts a rigorous double-blind peer review process involving two or more expert reviewers to ensure the quality and integrity of published articles. The review process is as follows:

  1. Manuscript submission: Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal's online submission system. Submitted manuscripts are checked by the editor to ensure that they are in accordance with the focus and scope of the journal and in accordance with the author's guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria will be returned to the author or rejected.
  2. Initial Evaluation by Editors: Editors evaluate the authenticity of the manuscript using plagiarism detection software, with a similarity tolerance limit of 20%. Manuscripts with a high degree of similarity or serious methodological weaknesses will not be forwarded for review.
  3. Reviewer Assignment: The editor assigns the manuscript to at least two reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. The journal uses a double-blind review system, ensuring that the identities of authors and reviewers remain confidential.
  4. Review Process: Reviewers critically evaluate manuscripts based on the relevance and significance of the research topic, the quality of the research design and methodology, the clarity of presentation and analysis of data, novelty, contributions to the field of nutrition and food technology, and compliance with ethical standards in research and publication. Reviewers provide detailed feedback and recommendations, including acceptance without revision, acceptance with minor modifications, major revisions required, or rejections.
  5. Editorial Decision: Based on feedback from the reviewer, the editor decides whether to accept, request revision, or reject the manuscript. If the reviewer's opinion differs significantly, additional reviewers may be consulted to reach a balanced decision.
  6. Revision by Authors: Authors are given time to revise their manuscripts based on the reviewer's comments. The revision deadline is 7-14 days for minor revisions and 21-30 days for major revisions. Revised manuscripts are resubmitted and may be re-evaluated by the same reviewers or editors to ensure all comments are adequately addressed.
  7. Final Editing and Review: Once the manuscript is approved, it will go through the final editing stage for language and format consistency. The evidence is sent to the author to be validated before publication.
  8. Publication: Approved manuscripts will be published online in the next issue of The NutriSmart: Journal of Nutrition and Food Technology The publication process ensures that only high-quality, scientifically valuable research articles are available to the scientific community. This structured and transparent review process guarantees the credibility and academic rigor of the articles published in the journal.
