Journal's Aims and Scope

HealthSmart is a public health journal launched as a platform for publishing research findings and advancements in public health science. The journal's primary focus is to present high-quality articles addressing public health issues, evidence-based health interventions, health policies, as well as technological innovations and methods in the field of health. The journal covers a wide range of topics, including Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, Epidemiology and Health Surveillance, Environmental Health and Occupational Safety, Health Policy and Public Service Management, Community Nutrition and Reproductive Health, Health Technology (e-health, m-health), and Digital Health Innovations. Social Determinants of Health and Equity in Access to Services. Its focus is on disseminating knowledge that can be applied to improve public health conditions at the local to national levels..

Publication Process

• Peer Review: All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. This means that neither the author nor the reviewer knows each other's identity. Each manuscript will be reviewed by at least two experts in the field. The final decision to accept or reject a manuscript is based on the reviewers' recommendations and the editorial board's consideration.
• Editorial Decisions: Editorial decisions can be:
• Accepted: The manuscript is accepted for publication without further revisions.
• Accepted with Minor Revisions: The manuscript will be published after the author makes the requested minor changes.
• Accepted with Major Revisions: The manuscript has the potential to be published after the author makes the requested substantial revisions. The revised manuscript will be re-evaluated by the editor or reviewers.
• Rejected: The manuscript does not meet the journal's standards or scope.
• Publication Ethics: We uphold the highest standards of publication ethics. Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript is their original work and has not been published elsewhere or is under review at another journal. Plagiarism, data fabrication, and other forms of scientific misconduct are strictly prohibited. All authors must explicitly state their contribution to the research. We use plagiarism detection software to check all manuscripts.

Author Responsibilities

• Originality: Authors guarantee that the submitted manuscript is their original work and has not been previously published.
• Source Acknowledgment: Authors must give proper credit to the sources used, whether for data, ideas, or quotations.
• Data Accuracy: Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy of the data and findings presented.
• Conflict of Interest Disclosure: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, whether financial, professional, or personal, that might influence the research results or data interpretation.
• Ethical Approval Statement: If the research involves human or animal subjects, authors must include a statement that the study has been approved by the relevant ethics committee.

Reviewer Responsibilities

• Objectivity: Reviewers must conduct their review objectively and constructively.
• Cooperation: If a reviewer feels unqualified to review a manuscript or does not have the time, they must promptly inform the editor.
• Confidentiality: Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript under review and must not use information obtained from the manuscript for personal gain.

Open Access

NutriSmart journal follows an Open Access policy. This means all published articles are freely accessible, readable, and downloadable by anyone. Authors retain the copyright to their work under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY SA), which allows others to copy, distribute, and display the work as long as proper attribution is given to the original authors.

Corrections and Retractions

If a substantial error is found in a published article, the NutriSmart journal will issue a Correction or Retraction if necessary. This decision is made based on the findings of an ethical investigation and will be announced transparently.
